Alliance

Alliance’s motto of “doing whatever it takes” has enabled the program to help people meet their individual recovery goals for over 20 years. The program provides comprehensive and community-based behavioral health services to adults and older adults with severe and persistent mental illness, including those transitioning out of jails and state prisons.

Our Vision:

Alliance was founded in 1999 with the vision of helping mentally ill adults within the Los Angeles County communities to live full and independent lives while managing the symptoms of their illnesses.

Our Work:

SSG/Alliance is a consortium contracted by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH). It is a specialized program designed to provide a full range of culturally and linguistically competent mental health treatment to help individuals transition from locked institutions to open living settings. A majority of these individuals have co-occurring conditions, such as severe medical conditions and/or substance abuse history, and are often identified by mental health systems as ‘hard to reach’ or ‘under-served’ populations. Today, the program fulfills its original mission by providing opportunities for its clients to grow, become self-sufficient and to improve the quality of their lives in residential and community settings. Many of our clients reestablish connections with long-lost family (here in the U.S. and in their home country) and ethnic communities.
