SSG serves at-risk, economically disadvantaged children, youth and families across various racial/ethnic and age groups at service sites located throughout the region. All programs are designed to strengthen families so that they may lead healthy, fulfilled and successful lives.

ASIAN PACIFIC COUNSELING & TREATMENT CENTERS (APCTC)
Asian Pacific Counseling & Treatment Centers was established in 1977 as the first mental health program of Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health specifically developed to meet the unique needs of Asian Pacific immigrants and refugees who were in need of a wide range of mental health services. In 1990, APCTC made a major transition through privatization to become a county-contract agency under Special Service for Groups. APCTC provides culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services. APCTC specializes in providing services to Asian and Pacific Islander groups such as: Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Lao, and Thai, as well as individuals and families from other ethnic groups.

CHILDREN’S DENTAL AND OUTREACH PROJECT (CDOP)
The mission of the Children’s Dental and Outreach Project is to decrease the likelihood of permanent oral damage, malnutrition, and general debilitation and infection in its target population. CDOP provides dental health education and no-cost dental care to students from low-income families preparing for kindergarten through high school in the following eight school districts: Hacienda/La Puente, Rowland District, Baldwin Park, El Monte, Bassett, Mountain View, Covina Valley and Pomona.

Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System (HOPICS)
Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System (HOPICS) offers an integrated approach to addressing mental health issues, substance abuse treatment, reentry needs and homeless and housing assistance. HOPICS is the designated Community Assessment Service Center for LA County SPA 6 and the South Central Homeless Drop-In Center. Services are provided to individuals and families in South Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

The Occupational Therapy Training Program provides young people with the skills they need to function effectively within the context of daily life. OTTP-LA serves high-risk, economically disadvantaged individuals ages 4-25 throughout Los Angeles County.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY TRAINING PROGRAM – SF (OTTP-SF)
Occupational Therapy Training Program provides comprehensive services to help youth and young adults with the skills they need to be productive, independent members of society. OTTP-SF’s target population is economically disadvantaged high-risk minority children, youth and young adults, ages 5-25 residing in San Francisco who experience significant barriers, including: economic disadvantages, severe emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, developmental delay, low basic skills, delinquency, pregnancy and/or parenting and substance abuse.

PARENTS NEIGHBORHOOD YOUTH PROGRAM (PNYP)
The Parents Neighborhood Youth Program offers after-school homework tutoring and recreational activities to children of Norwood Elementary School in downtown Los Angeles. Students are predominantly from immigrant, Limited English Proficient (LEP) and low-income families.

The Tongan Community Service Center provides social services to vulnerable families, seniors and disabled Tongans in Los Angeles County. They support the community to engage in pressing issues, including poverty, education, immigration and health.

WEBER COMMUNITY CENTER (WCC)
The Weber Community Center provides comprehensive outpatient mental health and substance abuse services to youth aged 0-21. The program targets at risk children and youth residing in Service Area 6 of Los Angeles County. All services are offered in English and Spanish. Probation referrals are welcome. Community service opportunities are provided free of charge.
